Guide to table

TR This column shows whether the restaurant can do delivery in the traditional way ie. you can just give them your order and address by phone or on their own website. The field will show the delivery fee to a downtown destination* if Princess Delivery Service is the restaurant’s partner, “na” (not applicable) if the restaurant doesn’t accept delivery, “ot” if the restaurant accepts delivery but uses other (ot) means to deliver eg. their own staff or another delivery service.

PM This shows whether you can order a personal delivery (P) by ordering takeout ahead through the merchant (M)/ restaurant then messaging Princess Delivery to get it. The field will show the fee to a downtown destination* or show “na” if there isn’t any way to order ahead with this restaurant. There are some restaurants where you can choose either PM or PP

PP This shows whether you can order a personal delivery (P) by just sending all the order details and your address to Princess Delivery (P) by message. This means the food carrier will order your food or items on arrival at the restaurant or store. Some restaurants simply will only take orders from inside their establishment. The field will show the fee to a downtown destination* or say “na” if we aren’t able to have the food carrier order for you (usually because the cooking or line up times are too long to ask the food carrier to wait or it isn’t straight forward to order at this restaurant and it’s best you communicate with the restaurant yourself). There are some restaurants where you can choose either PP or PM.

F$ (food price) A vague price guide…

$ Most economical. This includes restaurants with “$$” prices but larger portions

$$ We put most restaurants here

$$$ This could be Indian or Italian food, for example, like $18/ $20 per dish on average

$$$$ Fine dining. Lots of menu items above $25. Get your splurge on

KS (kitchen speed) This is referring to just the food prep speed for takeout orders. The more “!” there are the faster this kitchen is. One doesn’t mean bad. Indian food that often takes 30 minutes will be “!”. Places that can usually prep in 15 minutes and often less are “!!!!” and we include purchase + deliver stores here too. Sometimes even the fastest kitchen can have a queue but if we have listed it as “!!!!”, they can usually handle their busy times well and keep up impressive speeds during.

CL (Closing time) This is very general. Must google to be sure. If it says 10/9 it means 10 pm some days eg. Friday, Saturday, 9 pm other days. Keep in mind, some restaurants close entirely one day per week, a few close daily between lunch and dinner (eg. closed 2 to 5) and a couple will stop doing takeout/ delivery as closing time approaches. If it’s near closing, you may want to check in with the restaurant to be sure they’re taking orders before fielding order requests from all of your housemates

*for the sake of space and simplicity, we only have the delivery fees for the downtown zone listed on our restaurant list (we split our coverage area into twelve neighbourhoods/ zones). We are working on a full price. In the meantime, feel free to text for an exact price or use our guide to get a sense of which restaurants have higher/ lower fees as this will be proportional for any destination
